Leading door manufacturer, Hörmann UK, is pleased to announce that staff from its Leicestershire headquarters in Coalville will complete two events this month to raise money for its charity partner, Alzheimer’s Society. The company, which has already raised an impressive £41k since it first partnered with the charity in 2014, hopes that these events will bring it closer to its £45k target for 2017.

On Saturday 20th May, 15 brave staff members will take part in the Farmageddon Run in Market Harborough. They will cover a distance of 5 or 10km of extreme terrain while overcoming obstacles including hay bale towers, mud climbs, a bank scramble, vertical walls and a cargo net climb.

The following week, a group of three Hörmann employees, led by managing director David Newcombe, will undertake the Leicestershire Round. The 100-mile circular walk, which will start in Newtown Linford, will see the group visit key areas of Leicestershire including Bradgate Park, Borough Hill, Barwell and Saddington over four days. To help keep the team motivated along the way, approximately 10 additional members of staff will join the team at different points on the route.

Commenting on the challenges ahead, managing director David Newcombe said: “Not only will these tasks be extremely enjoyable but they will also be physically and mentally tough at times. We will once again pull together as a team and support each other in order to raise as much money as possible for Alzheimer’s Society UK.

“We first partnered with the charity in 2014 and have since raised over £41k for them, but we aren’t done yet. We hope that these two charity events will bring us closer, or even hit our £45k target for 2017. Alzheimer’s Society UK is a very worthy cause that staff at Hörmann are proud to support.”

Hörmann would like to reach their total target by the end of the year. If you would like to donate to Alzheimer’s Society, please visit Hörmann’s JustGiving page here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/H-rmann-UK1
